Brick Lane Baishakhi Mela
Established as the premier Bengali celebration outside of Bangladesh, the Baishakhi Mela brings together the very best of Bengali arts, music and culture To Brick Lane ‘Banglatown’ one of London’s most vibrant quarters. The Baishakhi Mela is the largest gathering of Asian community in the UK and known as the best cultural event in London’s Calendar. Baishakhi Mela is a unique festival, born out of the collective aspirations of a generation of Bangladeshi people to celebrate the Bangla New Year in the UK. The Baishakhi Mela is managed by the Baishakhi Mela Trust, a non profit making company that promotes the development and growth of this significant event on behalf of the Bangladeshi community in the UK. The festival has developed into a sensational extravaganza promoting all that Brick Lane and ‘Banglatown’ has to offer to people across London, the UK and abroad.

The second May Bank Holiday weekend will once again explode into life boasting off the wall street theatre and awesome outdoor spectacle, open air music stages, the best in urban dance performance, The Designer Village Fete, Carters Steam Fair, Side Shows, Circus Performances, a Desert Island, Specialist Food from around the world, Craft Markets, Spectacular Fireworks, and much much more... In the Victorian era, parks were pleasure gardens with the most thrilling activities of the day were on offer for families to enjoy. For Paradise Gardens we update this idea for the 21st Century, offering a dizzying array of artforms, stages and activities for audiences of all ages to enjoy.
